BRIEF HISTORY OF BOULDER
In 1859, the prospect of gold lured settlers to Boulder City. Prospectors and their families, along with all the necessary suppliers, moved to the rugged area. The settlers established trading partnerships with the Ute tribe. Boulder was also home to the first schoolhouse in Colorado, and in 1871 they began to build the University of Colorado in Boulder.
